20K is near

Мій коханий блог наближається до 20-ти тисяч переглядів за весь час існування. Цифра, за глобальними мірками, більше ніж скромна, й навіть мізерна, втім я ціную, що продовжував писати й вести сторінку впродовж останніх десяти років.

Для мене - приємно. Тож я вітаю себе і свій блог із цією подією, й бажаю всього найкращого: щастя, любові, добра, радості. )

Пригадую, коли у 2010-му писав перший пост, то було відчуття, наче починаю щось грандіозне=).

My way of improving English with fun (as for ESL learner)

So I have a little talk here about my English learning/having fun with. Kinda thought about it for a long time, and now finally recorded:

I do not know all the words in English
I do not know English perfectly.
I do not understand everything in English.

In the famous podcast resource 'All ears English' there's a great saying on this: 'Connection, not perfection'.

Well, so this represents my way. It may not work, or be fun for others, but for me personally it works fine, and it is fun as well.

I just want to share a few (10-15) resources/tips/bits of my way of having fun with English language.
- I listened to 'All Ears English' podcast (like a lot) =)
- I actually speak in English, not just talk about English language
- I read books for fun in English
- I watch movies/TV shows/YouTube etc for fun in English
- I've read the whole Bible last year in English (text+audio) *
- In common all my devices I use are set in English
- I work on a job where I'm constantly using my English language skills *
- I communicate ('Alpha online' course, chats, Italky etc, random chitchat outdoor)
- I watch Friends TV show=)
- I study English using Coursera, edX etc
- I occasionally read and do exercises with Murphy grammar book *
- 'Who wants to be a millionaire' app. And also I use/play other apps/computer games in English.

* - these are my favorite tips

Значення мого імені

  

Станіслав - означає 'стати славним' чи 'стань славним'.

Загальнослов'янське і українське чоловіче ім'я. Також існує жіноча форма імені - Станіслава.

Серед моїх улюблених людей - прикладів, що так називалися:

Станіслав Людкевич, український композитор 20-ого століття, - захоплююся його довголіттям 

і цікавою творчістю.

Станіслав Лем - польський письменник-фантаст, філософ. Народився у Львові.

Станіслав Костка - польський святий, єзуїт. Помер у віці 17-ти років. Вважається одним зі 

святих покровителів Польщі; католицьким покровителем міста Львова.

Сьогодні, вперше за довгий час, слухаю собі весь вечір О.Е., і тут, бачу, на 27.03 Святослав Вакарчук планує дати концерт зі своїм новим проектом у Тернополі. Ммм. 😋 Квиток взяти встиг ☺😉.

п.с. Пам'ятаю, у 2003-му році, відвідавши перший раз концерт "Океану Ельзи" ("Суперсиметрія"), я скупив їхні попередні альбоми, а саму "Суперсиметрію" придбав собі на двох аудіокасетах.

Стільки у мене спогадів, пов'язаних з музикою саме цього гурта, - фактично від самого дитинства, більше 17-ти років вже. Ого.

Пригадую також, зі своїм батьком (одна з його найулюбленіших груп, - як і моя) обговорювали творчість О.Е., їхні старі, нові пісні, концерти, альбоми, слухали "океанів" цілими альбомами в дорозі по Україні/за її межами.

Зараз знову відчуваю вдячність - своєму татові (сумую за ним), що тоді подарував мені той квиток у 2003-му.

Impro on NY

In New York. Yeah, exactly there.

You can be what you want, you can touch what you feel.

Although actually nothing changed, - you are the very different one.

It because of you boundaries. They just flew away, or more likely to say - they relaxed like long tightened muscles.

So now you live, and also you can see that this life can be built not only in the particular city, but it all starts in your mind. In our wishes. In your will. 

So now you understand, you acknowledge your wishes and liberty. Though you may be far away from the island, you have it within you. Nobody could change or destroy it. You are You. Yourself. Congratulations.

Take care, remember to water your plants on the backyard. They are especially vulnerable.
